Pre-searing pets
Hey guys,
I've recently started playing Guild Wars again. It was about 5-6 years ago for me. I was wondering if it was still possible to death level a wolf in Pre-searing? And is there a way to get ressed by a shrine in a 2 man party with only 1 person dying? Thanks in advance |

These are the pets you can charm:
Black Bear Melandru's Stalker Strider Warthog Wolf You cannot get ressed by a shrine in a 2 man party with one person dying. [If one person dies you can be ressed by the Resurrection Signet Skill of the other player, or you have to wait for both players to die to be resurrected at a shrine.] I believe you can death level a pet in pre-searing, however it involves a long process. Starting with attempting to charm the animal, then letting it repeatedly kill you near a res shrine (so you can resurrect every time it kills you without having to find it again) until it is leveled up, at which point you charm it. Hope that helps. |

Or you could run a character up to lvl 20 in presearing and take the pet with you.
No need to death level any more unless you really want to as there are daily 1000 xp missions that can take you all the way. Gets you Legendary Defender of Ascalon without dying at all, unless you screw up of course. |

Besides, you cannot charm an animal that is more than 4 levels above you. Death leveling wouldn't be that much good if only +4 levels.

This is by far the fastest and easiest way. The pet will be slightly behind you because it won't receive the 1000xp quest reward but by the time you reach 20 it will only take a little extra farming of one of the quests to finish the pet to level 20. Plus, although your armor is pretty crappy even with the vanguard effect bonus, the pet's armor continues to increase with level making it an incredible tank to take along on those quests. and, unlike death leveling which limits you to striders and wolves (the only 2 to spawn near shrines) you can choose to level any pre-searing pet you like. |

Stupid question when you get Legendary Defender of Ascalon do you have to run that character to the HOM to get the statue? or can a post character do it for them.

When you hit level 20 in pre there is an ai guy that notes the fact speak to him and he gives you the title.
It is automatically applied to your account |

You can then use another character in post searing to add it to your Account wide HoM

Nope LDoA isn't account wide, do as gremlin says, there is a NPC in Ascalon to allow your pre-char to add LDoA to HoM without leaving pre

There can be a little confusion because you get "eternal defender of ascalon" listed in your HOM.
I for one assumed they had made it account wide but it seems not |

You need to talk to the historian (by the big double doors ground floor) with the pre level 20 character. Then you can view it in HOM when you look with any character looking at account accomplishments
Thanks for the info I was Cornfused as they say |

Story so far
I started an ele in pre and got to lvl 20 so I had the ldoa title. Checked the hom with another character and I have the Eternal Defender of Ascalon statue ie gwen with flute blue flag and red iris flower HOM calculator reports 6 titles to Honour inc eternal defender of Ascalon. After arriving in post searing I deleted the character and started a monk now 10th lvl. So it seems once you have the title on a character it counts for the hom even though the character never made it past post searing ascalon city. I am never going to run a character right through all the games again as I have a Necro thats done pretty much everything that there is to do. To repeat it all just to have ldoa as well is a little pointless, so as long as it gives me a point in the hom I am happy. |
